Aim
We aim to build and install a library card music player into Exeter Library in time for the Summer Reading Challenge.
The Library Card Music Player is a device that will play a unique melody based on the barcode on the library card. The scanner reads the numbers on the barcode of each library card and these determine the melody that is played. Every card has a different melody and the same one is played each time that particular card is scanned, so each library visitor has their own signature tune.
The theme of this years Summer reading challenge is gadgeteers and we think that this device as a combination of art and technolgy fits the theme perfectly. We aim to have a device installed in Exeter Library for the start of the reading challenge in July.
