Aim
Our Liberate Dance Classes are travelling a marathon in a week to raise funds for #MoveMomentumMarch!
For #MoveMomentumMarch, our Liberate classes are working together to travel a marathon in a week - each person choosing a different activity (such as swimming, cycling, or pushing) and for an individual distance, but all adding up to the 26.2 miles of a marathon. Any donations would be much appreciated!
Who are we?
Move Momentum is a local charity based in Winchester that aims to make dance accessible to everyone. We provide weekly dance classes for young people, older adults and people with disabilities.
We believe that dance is for everyone. We strive to make this a reality.
Liberate Dance is the UK's first exclusively wheelchair-based dance company. At Liberate Dance we believe in celebrating the freedom of movement a wheelchair brings to people with disabilities. We encourage our dancers to celebrate their disabilities and view them as something to be proud of and embrace. Liberate Dance has provided an opportunity for people with disabilities to keep fit and do things they did not think was possible.
Why we need your help?
We need your support so that we can continue running these classes. We have had a difficult year financially, so our classes are unfortunately at risk. Our classes are so important to all who attend and are so much more than just a dance class, they are a support network, a community and place to be themselves and have fun.
How will the money be used?
The money will be used to keep our GEMS (over 65s), Liberate (wheelchair users) and Academy (11-16 year olds) classes running. £2000 will help us to keep all of our classes running for another year.
