Lewes Sling Library at the Nurture Hub

Aim

Providing free support from trained facilitators about safe and comfortable baby wearing plus try-before-you-buy from our library of slings!

The Lewes Birth  Collective has grown from a passion to improve how mothers and families are supported through pregnancy, birth and early parenting. We believe that with the right support mothers can begin life with a new baby feeling nourished and powerful and we want to be part of a cultural shift that recognises and celebrates the incredible work of parenthood.

We are building a network of practitioners and local groups that support families during pregnancy, birth, postpartum and early parenting to help strengthen community support for local families. 

We provide an online directory of practitioners and local groups and host events and community groups for families.

Nurture Hub is a free, informal drop-in for families to meet, relax and enjoy low cost refreshments while babies & children can play. We have asked families what is missing locally and many have said they would value a local sling library.

A Lewes Sling Library at the Nurture Hub will provide information & support form trained Sling Peer Supporters, parents/carers can get help with fitting their own slings and try out ones in the library.

Sling Libraries aim to help parents/carers know more about safe baby wearing, get support fitting slings so they are comfortable and help reduce household spending on slings.

Keep what you raise – this project will receive all pledges made by 23rd September 2026 at 2:28pm
