We are looking to raise funds for a new Playpark in Leverburgh. The current park has been closed for 3 years due to being unsafe.
Works at the new Leverburgh Playpark are about to commence, but we need YOUR help!
For 3 years, the children of South Harris have been without a playpark. The numbers in the nursery have increased drastically in that time, and there are more children set to enrol. We truly believe that every child deserves to have a safe and stimulating place to play.
Phase one, which is fully funded by the Scottish Government Playpark Renewal Fund, includes the installation of a multi play set with climbing frames and slides, an inclusive roundabout and a gravity bowl – carefully chosen to be suitable for children from pre-school to late primary age, and inclusive for all. The approximate cost for this phase is £66k and works are set to commence soon.
Phase two will include a wheelchair trampoline, log cabin and grass mats. To proceed with phase two, we need to raise £30,000. If the funds are raised within a matter of weeks, then both phases can be combined and will overseen by Comhairle nan Eilean Siar.
Can you help us raise this money?
Does your group want to hold an event?
Do you know an individual or business who would like to contribute to Phase 2?
We have launched a crowdfunder appeal and we’d love your help with sharing the link far and wide. Any donation, no matter how small the amount, will see us a step closer to our goal.
Because every child deserves to play!
