Lets Stop Loneliness and Isolation

Aim

Khush Amdid provides a warms safe place with food and wellbeing support for community women and supports homeless people with a hot meal.

Khush Amdid has been established for 24 years and is totally run by  very committed volunteers. It offers support and activities for women who are vulnerable and face many barriers accessing mainstream support. 

We bring together people who are lonely and isolated to make friendships and enjoy a hot healthy meal.  We support physical and mental wellbeing through chair based exercise, local walks, arts and crafts and invited speakers – activities which they would not undertake independently or enjoy as much without Khush Amdid facilitation. Post Covid, the increased cost of food and energy bills and increased poverty for the community has increased the people who attend our weekly session.  We will not be able to continue to offer hot meals and  the warm space because of the cost of living crisis and increased demand from the community.

We also provide a hot wholesome meal for 70 homeless men  in the local community once a fortnight and again increased costs is presenting this to be a reduced service.
