Aim
To work with our local community to plant trees, plenty of trees !
Visit New Mills are working with Derbyshire County Council and the Woodland Trust to plant lots of new native species trees in the Mousley Bottom Nature Reserve.
What will the money buy ? we will purchase saplings from local nurseries and also rabbit guards and supporting poles until the trees are strong enough to look after themselves.
Who will plant the trees ? anyone can help - already we have had local groups volunteering - we will send out a request for volunteers once we have planting dates
What have we done so far ? we have raised almost £200 and are discussing the ordering and planting with the expert Derbyshire Ranger team
Why are we doing this ? trees are fantastic; they are great for the environment, for wildlife habitats and they look good too
What can you do ? the more money that is raised the more trees we can plant, it's as simple as that, so whether its £5, £10 or more it will increase the number of new trees in New Mills - you can also help plant the trees (dates to be announced)
