We would love to raise enough funds to be able to get a small wheelchair stair lift put into our venue to make our space accessible to all.
Installing a small lift at Morley Live CIC would be a transformative step in making our venue fully accessible to everyone in Morley and the wider Leeds community.
As a grassroots music venue, café/bar and music school, we aim to provide a welcoming space for people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. However, without step-free access to all areas, some individuals—particularly wheelchair users, those with mobility challenges, parents with prams, and older community members—may face barriers to fully participating in our events, classes and social activities.
Installing a lift would remove these barriers, ensuring equal access to live music events, workshops, lessons and community gatherings. It would allow more people to attend, perform and engage confidently, supporting inclusivity and independence. This is especially important for a community-focused CIC, where accessibility is central to our mission.
Improved access would also enable us to expand our programme to reach more diverse groups, including disability-focused organisations and inclusive community sessions. Ultimately, this investment would help ensure Morley Live is a space where everyone feels welcome, valued and able to take part in the creative community.
