Aim: Continue the development of our established on-demand + catch up TV service with new films, documentaries and weekly news for Scotland
Scotland is poorly served by its mainstream media, largely because, like most things in the UK, much of it is centred on England. That’s why The Scotland Channel was launched around 15 months ago with the aim of creating a truly Scottish TV channel which seeks to put Scotland centre stage across a wide range of films, documentaries and a weekly news show. We don’t have billionaire backers like GB News, but luckily for us, technology and YouTube mean that we have been able to create a channel that meets the changes in TV viewing habits towards On Demand or Catch Up TV on what has become the world’s largest TV Platform, YouTube. That’s allowed us to reflect Scotland as it really is, not as London portrays us. However, in order to continue to provide our wide-ranging Scottish content and continue to build our audiences, we need cover costs associated with creating content and promoting our channel more widely to those who love Scotland so that we can take the Channel to the next stage of its development. Will you help us to give Scotland real visibility on our TV screens and give Scotland a voice in our currently warped television landscape and allow us to move as quickly as possible to sustainability?
