Aim

To assist SEJ increase our campaigning against Low Traffic Neieghbourhoods at a time when real evidence has emerged they do not cut car use.

SEJ is a grassroots campaign group that brings together people who are concerned about and/or adversely impacted by Low Traffic Neighbourhoods implemented across the country over the last few years.

These schemes are not part of a joined-up solution to our transport problems.

Most, if not all LTNs:

  • relocate traffic on to other residential/community roads
  • disrupt many of the established community patterns of those living and working in and around them, without adequate mitigation
  • fail to address the needs of people with disabilities and those with long-term health conditions or those who drive for their livelihoods

Millions of pounds of public money has been squandered on these schemes, when there is NO conclusive evidence that they reduce overall traffic/congestion, pollution, mileage driven or carbon emissions. Recently, Transport for London admitted it had buried research which showed that Low Traffic Neighbourhoods failed to cut car use.

Unlike some LTN lobby groups, we do not charge membership fees, and neither are we in receipt of government or charitable funding

Please consider donating so that SEJ can continue to cover it’s running costs and increase our campaigning against unjust LTN traffic relocation schemes and for more equitable ways of reducing traffic/pollution and road injuries across our communities.

 Thank you
