To provide mentored work experience for disabled adults, reduced cost food and a warm space for local people and visitors.
We are working with a local restaurant to give disabled adults the opportunity to get experience and learn skills for working in the hospitality industry, mentored by the existing restaurant staff. They will prepare and serve a reduced cost menu and provide a warm welcoming environment for customers. The aim is to increase their confidence and ability and in doing so increase their chances of employment. We also hope this venture will inspire other employers to consider taking disabled people into their businesses, recognising the unique abilities they bring to working environments.
The funding raised will be used to train, support and pay the mentors, contributing to the running costs of the restaurant and promoting the venture.
