Recently our friend Leon had a life-changing accident at work. This fundraiser is to help his family stay afloat over the next few months.
Leon was blue-lighted to Southmead hospital on October 29th where surgeons spent 14 hours operating on his hand to try to save his fingers. They’ve done a fantastic job, but months of recovery and therapy lie ahead.
Leon will never regain full use of his hand and the exact level of function he may recover is still uncertain. This accident has already had — and will continue to have — a huge impact on his life, with far-reaching consequences.
Leon is a talented cabinet maker, devoted Dad and much-loved friend. He and Jo are staying strong but with Leon unable to work for several months, possibly longer, they are facing financial pressure and uncertainty.
As close friends of Leon and Jo, we’ve seen first hand how deeply this accident has affected them. It’s very clear they need all the support they can get, including financial help.
This fundraiser aims to give Leon and Jo some breathing space - to help cover their mortgage and all the costs of running a family home with dependents, having lost all of Leon's income. Also, if possible, some specialised targeted therapy while he focuses on regaining strength in his hand.
Our goal is to raise funds to help Leon and his family stay financially stable and supported over the next few months.
Your support - whether through a donation or by sharing this page - will ease the financial stress, so Leon can focus on his recovery.
Thank you so much for your generosity. Your kindness means the world to Leon and Jo. From Helen and Cheryl xx
