Lego for the Royal Alex Children’s Hospital

Aim

I want to buy Lego for the children in the Royal Alex Children’s Hospital, I’m doing a 100km Walk in May to raise money for this

At the end of May, I’m taking part in London 2 Brighton Challenge, 100km Walk, which should take me 24 hours

I also run a Brighton Bricks, we do community projects, LEGO workshops, and social events for LEGO fans, and I wanted to use this walk to help me raise money so I can buy LEGO sets for the children in the Royal Alex Children’s Hospital in Brighton. I strongly believe play is so important for our mental health, and that helps us recover. So by giving LEGO (or Duplo for the younger ones) it will give the children a moment of fun 

My son when he was a baby had some time in the Royal Alex, before and after his surgery in London when he was 3 months old. So I know what an amazing job the hospital does 

So the money donated will allow me to buy brand new LEGO sets for the children, we are already taking to Rockinghorse, the Children’s charity associated with the hospital about how the LEGO can be used for children in the wards, or in play therapy sessions or in waiting rooms. 

Brighton Bricks has worked with many charities and community groups, like building a LEGO rollercoaster in the shop window of the Mind charity shop in Brighton (our previous crowdfunding campaign), as well as using LEGO to talk about domestic abuse with The Rita Project, and doing workshops for clients at mental health recovery centres. We also done Minifigure Trails to encourage people to shop local, and recently held our first big show with LEGO displays etc 

We are not part of the LEGO group, just big fans!
