Aim
My dear friend Blob is being subjected to coercive control through the courts and I want to raise some money to get her legal support.
The great Blob @tryingattimes is being harassed via the courts by her ex-partner, the father of her youngest child. It is a complex situation involving custody of her child, and also two properties originally bought while they were together (one is Blob's family home, and one is the home of her mother). Blob has been trying for several years to resolve the situation with her ex-partner regarding both issues, but he is not interested in resolving it. Rather, he is interested in being as manipulative and obstructive as possible and subjecting her to ongoing distress, and it is beginning to take a real toll on her mental and physical health.
Due to financial constraints, Blob has been trying to deal with the issue herself using advice given to her by a family friend, who is no longer practicing law, and is not specialised in this area. It has come to the point where we both think she needs proper legal advice and support from a feminist family lawyer and to be able to place a lawyer between herself and her ex-partner for her own well-being and sanity. We are therefore hoping to raise some funds to enable her to get the legal support she needs to be able to resolve this situation and get this abusive man out of her life.
Many of you know Blob from the twitters. She is anonymous for reasons we all understand, but I know her personally, she is a dear and true friend, and a staunch ally to women. Any help you could give us would be greatly appreciated.
