Create a Sustainable, Affordable Community of 34 new-build homes in Armley, Leeds

* Total includes a £300,000 grant from Leeds City Council (subject to LCH obtaining Registered Provider status and funds for the balance of the development costs).

Help us create new affordable homes in Armley!

Leeds Community Homes (LCH) is creating affordable and sustainable homes in an area of Leeds where they are urgently needed and that has been overlooked by other developers. It's in need of a housing boost to support the community which has previously been overlooked by other developers- and has much potential!

Your investment will:

• Help take action against the cost of living and housing crises by creating permanently affordable rental homes in Armley, Leeds, where rents are increasingly unaffordable.
• Tackle climate change by promoting eco-friendly living through a housing community that is committed to energy efficiency.
• Support the community-led-housing movement that can be replicated around the UK, creating quality and affordable homes for the next generation.
• Earn a potential return. Investments in the share offer provide an annual interest of up to 5% (subject to withdrawal limits)

The Bigger picture

As with other major UK cities, Leeds has been negatively affected by the housing crisis, with many families finding themselves priced out of rental homes in the area, creating a negative knock-on effect on the local community and exacerbating the problems caused by the cost of living crisis. Since 2015, Leeds Community Homes has championed people-powered homes in the city to combat the issue.

We plan to:

• Create an empowered community in Leeds by building new, sustainable and permanently affordable homes that are owned and managed by the community
• Support local people with a real need for housing in Armley by providing homes with green spaces
• Provide a blueprint for the future of affordable housing developments in Leeds and around the UK
• Ensure their properties are sustainably built and energy efficient so tenants can make savings on their energy bills and cut carbon emissions.

What your investment will do:

• It will enable the building of development of 34 new affordable, low-carbon homes in Armley that have green spaces around them
• It will help to breathe new life into the local community by focusing on creating new homes in areas currently neglected by developers
• It will empower people in Leeds and beyond to take control and create people-powered homes and shared green spaces for the wider community
• It will support the success of LCH to continue to innovate solutions to the affordable housing problem and promote sustainable community living
