Aim: To provide client aid for CAP Debt Help Clients to buy essential food & toiletries, and to pay court fees to obtain debt relief orders

I was drawn to work for CAP (Christians Against Poverty) 10 years ago because it is a really practical way to help people who are in unmanageable debt. After moving to Leeds in 2021 I was asked by Mosaic Church to set up a new CAP Debt Help centre in Leeds. We offer a home-based FREE service to help people get out of unmanageable debt. In doing this work we come into contact with many people who are living on very low incomes and we want to provide them help with food or other essentials whilst they work with CAP to get debt free. We also want to support them in finding the fee that the courts charge for different forms of insolvency.
