At LATCH (Leeds Action to Create Homes) we support over 100 people. Our tenants have a history of homelessness and additional support needs. Our support is psychologically informed and very much tailored towards the individual needs of our tenants.
We are aware of the strong links between physical activity and mental well-being. It’s well documented that exercise can improve mood, reduce stress, improve confidence and self-esteem, and help manage anxiety and depression. In a survey many of our tenants expressed an interest in attending the gym. For many, financial hardship means that’s this unfortunately is not a feasible option. In recent years financial support around such activities has been removed and access for many remains unrealistic.
We have created this crowdfunder to address this, and to enable people to be able contribute to the future well being of our tenants. We would use the money raised to fund 10 people to attend the gym for 12 months and gain the many benefits of regular exercise. We are looking to raise £2400.
