18th November 2021Community Workshop and Men's Shed
News
Hi everybody - thank you for donating and sharing so far. Fund raising seems to have stalled, so we'd ask you once again to do what you can to help promote our cause.
We have very exciting news - we've discovered the UK Men's Sheds Association, a nationwide organisation that supports and promotes workshops that are open to local communities. Watch this video to get a feel for the kind of support a Men's Shed can give to the community. Thank you to Peter La Broy for telling us about this wonderful organisation.

We have decided to open our workshop for two mornings per week - but we aren't limiting access to men, all members of the community are welcome to attend. We will be following guidance from the UK Men's Sheds Association, and taking on-board their safe-guarding guidance and insurance recommendations.
Help Needed
We really need help with the following aspects of our campaign.
Getting the Word Out
A community workshop is useless without the community being involved. Please watch the video, and share our fundraising project. People need to know that our community workshop will be opening in Bude in 2022.
Join the Movement
If you are interested in using the workshop or in volunteering to help out during our community sessions, register your interest on our website, or better still, donate by choosing the membership reward. The workshop will be open for all skill levels, so even if you've never tried woodworking before, come along, there will be someone there to help you learn. If you are interested in helping people to learn by giving a little guidance or contributing to our training plan, please sign-up and let us know.
Location, location, location
We need to find a location in Bude, ideally on a bus route or somewhere within walking distance from the town centre. Please email [email protected] if you have suggestions, or know anyone who may be able to help.
Our Commitment
We are still committed to our primary purpose - helping to achieve carbon net-zero in our community by reducing waste, propsering and scaling the business out across the country. By opening our doors to the community, we can also do good work improving mental health for our users, boosting socialising opportunities and building networks of new friends.
Thanks for all your help so far
Jase and Tom
