I’m starting a small-scale mushroom farm in Yorkshire, with a focus on Lion’s Mane and Oyster mushrooms—both known for their taste and health benefits. I’m raising funds for essential equipment and a vehicle to deliver fresh, local mushrooms to markets and shops in my community.

Hi, I’m Justyna, and I’m building a small mushroom farm with a big mission: to bring fresh, locally grown gourmet mushrooms to people in Yorkshire.

I’ve planned a setup that can support around 250 mushroom grow bags, using a small indoor grow space that’s energy-efficient and easy to manage. My main varieties will be Oyster mushrooms (delicious and versatile) and Lion’s Mane, a unique mushroom valued not only for its seafood-like flavor but also for its potential brain and nerve health benefits.

Lion’s Mane has been studied for its potential to:

Support memory and cognitive function

Help with focus and mental clarity

Reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression

These mushrooms are growing in popularity, and I want to make them accessible locally—fresh, unprocessed, and responsibly grown.

What I Need Funding For

Starting this kind of farm is possible on a small budget—but I still need help with key upfront costs:

• £3,000–£3,500: A reliable used vehicle or van for transporting mushrooms to farmers markets and doing local shop deliveries
• £1,000: Grow equipment (bags, substrate, racks, humidifier, lighting, temperature control)
• £500: Initial packaging, stall setup, and basic branding

I’ve already prepared the space and planned the full grow cycle. I’m ready to begin as soon as funding allows!
