What is ‘Last Night a DJ Saved My Life, Bristol’ ?
Hello, my name is Mark Clayden and I am a musician living in Bristol. I’m raising money to buy 150 portable hand wound radios to give to the homeless, those in need and the isolated in Bristol.
When I was unemployed, listening to John Peel on the radio really kept me going through very lonely and isolated times. Now more than ever, people across many walks of life are feeling isolated, both physically and mentally.
The ‘Last Night a DJ Saved My Life, Bristol’ Project aims to provide portable radios to the homeless, those in need and the isolated across the city. All of the radios provided have a light, can charge a mobile phone, are able to play AM and FM radio and can be hand wound as well as powered by batteries or mains power.
This is Where You Come in
We’re calling on the good nature of the people of Bristol, anyone who has lived in the city or has personal connections with Bristol, to support or donate to the project. Please give whatever you can!
Please read more about the brilliant charities we are providing the radios to:
One25 - Step away from the streets
Bristol Ageing Better: Bristol - A brilliant place to grow old
Caring in Bristol - For people experiencing or at risk of homelessness
A huge thank you to our amazing sponsors and supporters:
