A prison sentence or one month in an experiment program.
This is the choice 6 people are given. Desperate to avoid the consequences of their actions, each for their own reasons, they are given a shot at redemption. They all agree to take part in this experiment but maybe they should have stuck to the original consequences?
Everything is quickly thrown into chaos when one of the participants starts to give birth. Some take the chance to try and escape while others help their fellow test subject. With the aid from an unexpected source they try to make their way through the facility, but escape is not their only goal….

What would you choose?
We are a group of filmmaker's and Actors collaborating on this short film together, all of us are at different stages in our careers. Some of us are recent graduates from film or acting schools, some of us have been working professionals looking to find like minded people, some of us have been working in different sectors of the arts and are now looking to expand to film!
Based all across the UK, driven and enthusiastic cast and crew that have been hand selected by the National Youth Film Academy for their talent and potential to produce, write and perform in their own short film.
Working with an ensemble cast, we drew inspiration from movies that focus on isolation and containment. With the writers and producers, we crafted a story whereby we could use the limited environments we were given, to create a scenario where our characters were forced together by circumstance, given an ultimatum.
I want to make this an immersive experience for the audience with tones of claustrophobia. Beginning the film with tension, maintaining a level of intensity and suspense throughout, by exploiting Hitchcockian methods, particularly through editing. The ultimate goal of the film is to make the audience feel entirely invested without revealing too much too soon.
Through the pregnant character Paprika, we will explore themes of motherhood, stretching limits to the bond between mother and child. Utilising an isolated environment, we want the audience to feel entrapped with the subjects, using the set and costume to completely dehumanise the subjects, and explore the human limits to pressure and survival. Juxtaposing this with those who control the experiment, we will explore the danger of power, and the abuse of power. Given that our subjects are all violent criminals I am to subvert the audience, testing our preconceptions of justice and how justice should be served to the worst of people in our society.

Coronavirus, now if you feel like us I’m sure you are sick of hearing about it too! It is the new normal and we are doing everything possible to be safe, professional and secure. This includes catering, temperature checks, face masks, exclusive hire of space to avoid any cross contamination and cleaning for set. Unfortunately it has hit short films the hardest as it is another part of the budget to have to spend but so essential to everyone’s safety.
We want you to know by supporting our film you are supporting the next generation of filmmakers and actors! This is the grass roots of the industry and you never know you could be supporting the next Octavia Spencer or Steven Spielberg!
This film Last Chance will be entered in film festivals all over the world in our post production phase after our ODEON screening in London! This is giving us young actors and filmmakers a chance to get coverage, noticed and maybe even gain contracts to work with production companies or agencies.
