Larne Cricket Club’s crowdfunder aims to support the long-term development of cricket in the community

Who are we?

Larne Cricket Club is a proud community club with a long tradition of sportsmanship, inclusion, and passion for the game. Over the years, we’ve worked tirelessly to keep cricket thriving in the town — creating opportunities for players of all ages and abilities to enjoy the sport in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Our vision is to make Larne a hub for cricket in East Antrim — a place where young players can develop their skills, where families can connect through sport, and where the wider community can come together to celebrate cricket.

We believe cricket has the power to build confidence, teamwork, and lifelong friendships. By growing our youth setup and strengthening our facilities, we can ensure the club continues to play a positive role in the lives of local people for generations to come.

Why are we crowdfunding?

Cricket is growing in popularity, but access to the game in our area remains limited — especially for young people who may not have opportunities to try it at school or in their community.

This crowdfunder represents a vital step toward changing that. With your help, we can:

• Take cricket directly into local schools, inspiring children who might never have picked up a bat before. These will be sessions after-school 2-4pm.
• Provide structured junior coaching and accessible pathways into the club.
• Providing pre-season cricket sessions to link children from the primary schools programme back to the club immediately, to then lead into the summer programme after this project commences.
• Support our senior squads to compete at a higher level, providing role models and pathways for juniors to follow
• Improve our facilities and equipment, ensuring Larne CC remains a safe, sustainable, and welcoming place for all

Our Vision for the Future

With the right support, we can transform the club’s future. Our ambition is to build a cricketing programme that supports players from their first school session through to senior competition — all within a thriving community club environment.

Funds raised through this crowdfunder will go directly toward:

• Coaching and equipment for schools and junior programmes
• Provide valuable coaching hours to aid development.  
• Improving practice facilities and ground infrastructure
• Supporting player development at all levels

Every pound raised helps us take another step toward that goal.
