An experience‑led community for people affected by road crashes, helping survivors feel less alone with accessible long‑term peer support
My name is Abi, and I created Lantern Connect after losing my fiancé in a road crash. Peer support became a lifeline for me — the only place where I felt understood, less alone, and able to slowly navigate my new life. When a key charity facilitating peer‑support for road crash victims closed in January 2026, thousands of survivors lost the one community that truly understood their experience. That gap is what Lantern Connect is here to rebuild.
Lantern Connect is a survivor‑led, trauma‑informed online community for anyone bereaved in a road crash. Our small team includes trauma‑informed moderators, safeguarding support, and survivors with lived experience who understand the long, complex journey through grief, trauma, and the justice system.
Our vision is to create a safe, accessible space where survivors can connect, share, and support each other for as long as they need — without waiting lists, regional limits, or complex accessibility.
