We're still collecting donations
On the 1st April 2022 we'd raised £25,675 with 177 supporters in 68 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Langford CC are delighted to have the opportunity to build new nets at the club. To pull it off, we need to raise £20,000 with your help!

On the 1st April 2022 we'd raised £25,675 with 177 supporters in 68 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
The extra money will go towards:
1. Upgrading to a higher spec nets, guaranteeing a longer life
2. Helping to cover the maintenance costs of the nets for the next five years
3. Run additional training sessions for local schoolchildren to make sure the nets benefit as many people as possible!
Who are we?
Langford Cricket Club is a grassroots club, based on the outskirts of the Gloucestershire countryside. After the club folding in the early 2000's, we've grown from nothing into a thriving grass roots club & the hub of the local community for players and locals alike in just a decade. We're passionate about continuing to grow the club and offering cricket to absolutely everyone with our junior, ladies and men's sections. We want to create a sustainable future to ensure cricket for all our members in the long term.
Our primary focus has always been on inclusion, welcoming new members of all abilities (including those who have no interest in playing), which we feel is particularly important in a rural, fairly isolated area, which is experiencing a significant drop in participation in local sport.
We're expanding all the time and have hopes of expanding our ladies section and offering girls cricket in 2022, and already run a full juniors settings from u5s to u15s, along with 3 men's sides on a Saturday.
What is the opportunity?
Courtesy of our generous local farmer, we've now got the opportunity to build new brand new nets in a much better location. This will allow us to replace our old worn out nets that have served us well for so many years, but sadly are now not safe to continue using. After 13 years (they are designed for 10 years of use if well looked after) the current nets have certainly provided their fair share of enjoyment for everyone at the club, so it's vital we get new ones up and running to ensure everyone continues to enjoy using them.
The Challenge:
The global COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted fundraising at sports clubs up and down the country. Cricket was particularly badly hit, with the beginning of the season sadly coinciding with the height of the pandemic. Whilst we have worked tirelessly to minimise losses due to COVID-19, fundraising opportunities have been limited due to the on-going restrictions.
Sadly, our flagship fundraiser, the annual Langford Cricket Club Beer Festival, had to be cancelled in 2020 & 2021, wiping out vital income that the club usually relies on. Here's a taste of what we all missed this year...
How can you help us?
Our biggest challenge is to raise the £20,000 required that we need to be able to build our new nets in time for the 2022 season.
We're looking for support to allow this amazing rural community-based club to continue to thrive and provide cricket for all ages, sexes and abilities with our ambitious ground expansion. We're particularly proud of the opportunities and focus the club gives younger people in a rural community. Our club has an amazing group of 16-25 year olds in both the men's and ladies section and our junior section from u9-u15 ensures this will continue to be the case over the coming years. Hear from Patrick below as to how LCC has helped him:
We're running two flagship fundraising initiatives which provide scope for everyone to show us support, whatever your financial constraints.
1. Sponsor a fence post:
2. Businesses looking to support community projects:
3. And a range of limited time offers that will go live throughout the duration of the fundraise!
And an added bonus....
As you some people may have seen from the donations section, Sport England have kindly donated £9,000 to the cause. The only caveat is we have to hit the full £20,000 mark or the donation is withdrawn - it's all or nothing!
We would love your support to allow our club to grow and fulfil the needs of the local community we serve!
