LandExplorer makes it simple to find out who owns the land & buildings in your community. Help us keep it free for everyone who needs it!
Hello! We're Digital Commons Co-op and we build technology for social movements. LandExplorer is our tool for finding out who owns the land and buildings around you.

That information exists. But accessing it has always required money, specialist software, or both. LandExplorer changes that: it lets anyone search land ownership data across England and Wales for freem, helping everyday people understand who owns what in your neighbourhood, and local areas.
When ownership is hidden, power is hidden too. We think that information should be accessible to everyone.
LX helps communities across the country are trying to answer basic questions:

This year, the government is making more land ownership data publicly available.
That's real progress!
But public doesn't automatically mean usable.
The data is still fragmented, technical, and difficult to search. Without the right tools it'll still be out of reach for most community groups.
That's where LandExplorer comes in.
Later this year, we're relaunching LandExplorer with major improvements including:
Your contribution will make these exciting developments a reality!

Housing campaigners. Tenants unions. Journalists. Researchers. Community organisers.

We've built something useful. With your help we can make it even more powerful and reach more communities.
Every contribution directly supports development of new features and free public access.
You can simply make a donation, or select one of our rewards.
We believe public-interest tools should stay publicly accessible.
That's why the free tier isn't going anywhere. It stays free. Always.
To keep the project sustainable, we're introducing a solidarity model: organisations that can afford to pay help fund free access and ongoing development for grassroots groups that can't.
The solidarity tier costs £600 (£500 plus VAT) per year and includes full access to every new (future) feature.
If you back us now at the £600 level, you'll receive your first year free when the new version launches later this year. This directly funds the development of LandExplorer, and keeps it accessible to hundreds of people.

Land ownership shapes housing, development, public space, and political power. People looking to make a positive impact on our communities need tools that make that visible.
If LandExplorer has helped you, your organisation, or your community, or if you believe this information should be accessible to everyone, please support our campaign.
Together we can keep this tool open, independent, and available to the people who need it most.
