We have known about climate issues for 50 years, but scientific facts alone cannot create the wide scale changes we need in order to maintain life on Earth. Music has huge power to bring positive change.
Music Declares Emergency runs campaigns that help support artists to speak out effectively on climate, work with the music industry to promote sustainable best practice, and work with audiences to create community around climate action. We work across the music industry to use music’s advocacy power to support and call for urgent action on climate and the environment.
Launched in the UK in 2019, Music Declares Emergency has now spread to 14 countries and counting including US, Canada, Indonesia, Chile, Brazil, Mexico, France, Germany & the Netherlands. Our declaration and flagship NO MUSIC ON A DEAD PLANET campaign have been supported by 7000+ artists & organisations including Billie Eilish, Radiohead, The LSO, Mel C, The 1975, Joy Division, Kerrang, NME, Universal Music, Sony Music & AEG Presents.
