The proposed area for the sanitary area has a wall separating it from a kitchen area which is in dire need for a refurbishment. The extra funding would allow us to upgrade the kitchen and add a window in which we can serve the general public through, thus creating revenue for the club to make us more sustainable.
Background Information
Ynyshir Albions Football Club participate in the third tier of Welsh Football at senior level and play their home games at The Oval, Ynyshir. In recent years the club has enjoyed unprecedented success, achieving 4 promotions within 5 seasons.
In addition to our on-field success, our dedicated committee has worked tirelessly to improve facilities at the ground for the benefit of the community. The ground is shared with Ynyshir Boys and Girls Club (several age groups), AFC Wattstown and the local primary school.
Hundreds of players, coaches, officials and spectators visit the ground every week. Rather embarrassingly, we do not have suitable sanitary facilities at the ground to meet these basic needs.
The toilets within the ground are situated inside the changing room, and are not accessible to the public during a match. It's not reasonable to ask a lady or a disabled member of public to be accompanied through the changing area to a toilet.
As a temporary measure we have hired portaloos at the rear of the building, but this is not something we want to continue with long term.
We are therefore asking for your support to transform an area identified at the rear of the changing room into toilets, with exclusive access to the public. The area is currently used to store training equipment and local authority maintenance machinery. As part of the funding we have identified a storage container that we could hold this equipment within, adjacent to the current building.
