Sadly this year our theatre and dance company are without that and to make matters worse we were unsuccessful in our recent funding application to put on the production.
"The show must go on" we hear you shout from the stalls.....and indeed it will.
But we need your help.
For the first time the NGYT Theatre and Dance Company have joined forces to bring you the co-devised play
'Laced within our borders'
The play explores the fundamental questions 'What does it mean to belong?' and 'where do we fit?'
We asked our young people What does this look like? Feel like? What is home to you? What is home for those who are nothing like you?....for those you read about or hear about on the TV?
And from here our story, their stories and your stories pathed the way onto the page.
Like every year we apply for funding to cover a multitude of production costs and to pay the hugely important creatives that give themselves to the project. Lights, sound, marketing, set design, designer fees, choreography fees, director fees, writer fees, producer fees, costume, props.....and as I'm sure you can imagine it all quickly adds up.
We cannot for the sake of our young people let our aspirations of making the highest possible quality of work slip. We must find a way to pay for the expertise of the individuals who feed into the process and ensure everything is the best it can be for our young ensemble.
We will be performing 4 intimate shows on the 29th and 30th of May in the most charming of local venues (all will be revealed).
NGYT is a community interest company that passionately and whole heartedly sees the arts as life changing....not only for young people but also their families and our town. We do our utmost to keep our costs low to ensure we are accessible and inclusive to all and we need your help to make sure we are able to deliver our mission.
