This is a fundraiser on behalf of 3 registered charities: Knebworth Park Cricket Club, Cricket Without Boundaries & Young Leaders in Cricket
by Finn Hobbs in Knebworth, Hertfordshire, United Kingdom
Who am I?
I am Finn Hobbs and I am Crowdfunding as part of my Young Leaders in Cricket programme. I am challenged to raise £100 for different charities, including the programme itself, and this sweepstake will hopefully breach the £100 target set. If I am able to sell more than 20 tickets, another sweepstake will automatically begin.
What is the sweepstake?
The sweepstake is for the upcoming T20 World Cup, which will take place in the West Indies and the USA between the 1st & 29th June.
Who am I Crowdfunding for?
I am Crowdfunding for three registered charities. The first, Knebworth Park Cricket Club, is a community cricket club that I have been a member at for eight years. The money that goes towards the club will help to promote cricket within my village and increase members at Knebworth Park Cricket Club. My second chosen charity, Cricket Without Boundaries, is a charity that helps empower communities through cricket. The charity works in three continents and uses cricket as a tool to promote health and social change. My third and final charity, Young Leaders in Cricket, is a programme that helps 13-17 year olds acquire leadership and competency skills in order to be able to volunteer in the cricketing community and beyond.
How the sweepstake will work
The entry fee will be £5 and you can purchase more than one team. Once it has been received, you will be randomly allocated a team, which will be submitted into the comments section and confirmed via the Knebworth Park Cricket Club socials (see links below) on the 30th May, two days before the start of the tournament. If your team wins the T20 World Cup, you will receive £25. If your team is the losing finalist you will receive £15, and losing semi-finalists will get their £5 back. Should you win any money, it will be transferred to you shortly after the tournament’s conclusion. The 50% of the money that does not go to the winners will be split amongst my three chosen charities, as mentioned above.
How you can play your part
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
