Koycegiz Dog Shelter in Turkey

Did you know the shelter homes 450+ dogs and more are always arriving.

In February of this year. Huggy Dogs raised almost £10,000 in aid of an animal refuge in Ukraine founded by Andrea Cisternino.

The support that came in from YOU the public and our members was absolutely amazing.

Thank you again to the donors who contributed to our fundraiser earlier this year.

Huggy Dogs is a small Facebook group that has been running since April 29th 2014 and over that time we have raised funds for many shelters and single-non-profit rescuers around the world.

Recently I was told about the Koycegiz Dog Shelter in Turkey and I wanted to try and raise some funds to help this shelter that houses over 450 dogs. Their policy is to not turn any dog away but due to lack of funds/help, the shelter has found itself struggling. 

Usually, when we raise funds throughout the year it's solely through our Facebook page. But since the amazing response, we had earlier this year. I thought I would give it a go and ask the public too outside our group if they would like to help us help them.

I will be contacting the shelter to let them know what Huggy Dogs is trying to do to help and our group is totally transparent. So please come and join us on our group page if you would to help us raise funds for other shelters as of when we set one up.

This non-profit shelter relies totally on donations, and all their dogs are cared for and treated by donations. Many dogs are dumped on the streets unwanted because they've grown too big, too old, too noisy, became pregnant, or just not wanted anymore so the shelter takes them in. Some are even dumped at their doors without no prior notification.

Every £ counts right now, so Huggy Dogs can help them castrate/sterilise and vaccinate all dogs as well as the medicines needed.
