Aim

Building on success, sustaining and expanding our Sonic Lab — the hub for bold sound experiments at Konsztrukting Soundz.

My Story/Who Am I?

My name is Lev Dudas. I’m a self-taught musician and curator with a lifelong passion for experimental and improvised music.

My journey began as a classical guitarist, inspired by Andrés Segovia, before expanding into jazz theory and improvisation. Early work assisting with live events taught me the technical side of staging concerts and deepened my appreciation for a wide range of musical styles.

The real turning point came through powerful musical discoveries: the free improvisation and spiritual jazz of Jan Garbarek, Evan Parker, Cecil Taylor, AMM, and the Art Ensemble of Chicago. At the same time, the avant-garde works of Arnold Schoenberg, Krzysztof Penderecki, Iannis Xenakis, and the electronic worlds of Tangerine Dream opened my ears to entirely new sonic universes. These experiences ignited a deep desire to create spaces where this kind of fearless, adventurous music could thrive.

My Artistic Mission

I see music-making as sonic construction — building with sound, texture, and silence rather than just notes. Since 2019, my focus has been on deep listening, experimentation, and discovering my own voice by blending acoustic, electronic, and environmental sounds. Konsztrukting Soundz is the natural extension of this personal journey: a living platform where risk-taking and sonic exploration are encouraged and celebrated.

N|O|E|W|A Creative Music

The roots of my curatorial work go back to 2008–2009 in Hungary, where I ran the NOEWA Jazz Workshop Series dedicated to avant-garde jazz and free improvisation. What began as curation gradually evolved into my own creative practice under the name N|O|E|W|A Creative Music.

KONSZTRUKTING SOUNDZ: A Journey into Sonic Exploration

Nestled in the historic and beautifully resonant Fishermen’s Chapel in Leigh-on-Sea, Konsztrukting Soundz is a dedicated platform for experimental electroacoustic music, free improvisation, and bold sonic collaborations.

Since launching in September 2023, the series has grown into a respected creative hub that brings together established and emerging artists, curious audiences, and forward-thinking ideas.

Sound as Structure / Structure as Sound

At Konsztrukting Soundz, every concert is a living act of construction. We embrace instability, spontaneity, and the unknown. Rooted in free improvisation, each evening becomes a unique architectural space built from feedback, breath, circuitry, and resonance — never to be repeated the same way again.

How You Can Make a Difference

Konsztrukting Soundz has grown significantly. After completing Season #2 (2025–2026) with 10 successful gigs, we have now hosted 26 concerts in total. Our artist community has expanded to 136 musicians and sound artists, and we’ve built a loyal, growing local and regional audience that returns month after month.

What started as an intimate series has become a genuine community hub for adventurous music in the Southend area.
