Developing an outdoor space to provide Outdoor Education & Activities with Green Space Development including rewilding and conservation.

Konnekt Outdoors is a project that aims is to reconnect children, young people and the wider community with the natural environment. We do this through a range of outdoor learning and outdoor adventurous activities that are fun, challenging and educational.

We would like to create an outdoor learning and activity space on a piece of land adjoining our Youth and Community Centre. It has been a misused and mostly disused piece of land and our youth groups are motivated to develop it into a viable long term outdoor space for everyone to utilize for positive activities, outdoor learning, rewilding and seed to plate projects. Children and Young People have been at the Heart of the Planning.
The land is currently baron of any sign wildlife, flora and fauna and is hazardous due to use by illegal motorbikes. The objective's are to make the site safe, attractive, accessible and increase biodiversity.

The area in which we operate and intend to develop is in the top 10% most deprived in the UK and the benefits of such a space will have a massive positive impact on everyone that access the space.
We have been working with young people throughout the Covid 19 pandemic and we stayed active throughout lockdown. During a 2 year period we ran a project to directly combat the effects and during that time we identified the need for an outside space. The pandemic had a huge impact on young peoples wellbeing and being outside taking part in activities helps to alleviate some of the physical and mental stresses.
Every penny raised will go directly into the creation of this wonderful outdoor space, paying for items such as, benches, planters, greenhouse, flowers, trees, fencing, outdoor activity equipment and an outdoor classroom are amongst the things we need.
Your funds will join other funds we have already raised from other funders and fundraisers to make this vision a reality.
There will be a wide range of physical activities to get involved in throughout the year. There will be gardening and maintenance of the re-wilded area, teambuilding activities, assault course type equipment, social active play areas, a green for sports, big games and ball games, an outdoor Archery range and if we exceed our target we will be building a climbing wall.

This image above only shows a proposed layout which doesn't include, green house, growing area, woodland and re-wilded area.
This project will help extend our reach to more people and add to the range of activities we can provide, we can increase our services to tackle more inequalities that exist for the young people and their community and provide more opportunities for positive activities, learning, having fun, staying fit and learning greener behaviours for a healthier future.
