Hello! I'm Darren, a designer, a watch aficionado and creator of Finn Harper. I wanted to create a brand that could offer consumers high end products using high end materials but without the high end price tag. I want to fuse together vintage designs using modern technology with a minimalist edge.

Design

The Kong racing chronograph is a fully working chronograph watch inspired by the golden age of motor racing. 

What we have created is a clasically vintage styled chronograph watch with working sub dials using modern mechanics.

Unlike watches of today where bigger seems to be better, we wanted to create a traditional, elegant watch with a classic look and feel, and so our case diameter is set to a modern, yet gentlemanly 43mm. It is a chronograph watch that can be worn casually or in a more formal setting.

Being a British brand and creating a watch inspired by the golden age of motor racing . it was only natural,  that for our first release we use the British racing green (BRG) for our dial, then add the brown genuine leather strap and you have a typically British watch. 

Materials

For the watch case we insisted on using one of the finest alloys available, surgical grade 316lL steel, an extremely strong and durable metal.

The glass used is sapphire crystal glass, a glass which is much more resistant to scratches.

The engine that powers the Kong racing chronograph is a OS10 Miyota movement, a Japanese movement which is super accurate. 

Plan Of Action

This campaign has been 13 months in the making before finally finding life of Crowdfunder. But now we're ready to launch the Kong racing chronograph, the design has been agreed and finalised, technical drawings validated and the case moulds and tools are ready. We've tested the watch and are 100% fully satisfied with the look and feel of the watch.
