Komedia Bath is part of a national initiative launched by Music Venue Trust to prevent the closure of hundreds of independent music venues, during these uncertain times.
As part of the campaign we put on a live streamed music event as part of the Music Venue Trust #SaveOurVenues campaign on the 31st May. You can now see the HD version of this streamed event on YouTube.com/KomediaBath. Hosted by Laura Rawlings and AD Chivers, the show included incredible archive footage of Komedia gigs, including Turnin Brakes, Ward Thomas and The Hoosiers, along with messages of support and lockdown performances especially put together for our campaign.
In line with the MVT campaign, we are aiming to raise £10k with any excess going to the national campaign. money to help the industry through this tricky time.
Please donate if you can and share the campaign backbathkomedia.co.uk with your friends and family.
For those who have followed Komedia Bath for a little while now, you might remember - or have been a part of - our 2017 campaign, which saw the venue journey into Community Ownership - an incredible step towards securing the venue's future in the heart of Bath.
However... the unprecedented Covid-19 crisis has once again plunged the future of venues like ours into uncertainty in a way that nobody could have foreseen.
Like so many others our doors are closed and it's an unknown when we will be in a position to safely reopen. In the meantime, our income streams have all but dried up. We need to support our staff, our performers, DJs, techs and the multitude of freelancers who keep our venue at the top of it's game.
We know how much our venue means to the community it serves - we converted the venue into a Community Benefit Society in 2017 and now our venue is owned by over 250 members. We owe it each and every one of our members, performers, staff and audience to do everything we can to ride out this unprecedented storm to the best of our ability and we need your help to do it.
Your donations will be used to invest in online marketing via streamed projects to ensure that when we re-open we are ready to go and that we've done everything we can to secure not just our future but the future of those our venue depends on to deliver the outstanding level of entertainment that it does.
If we hit our target, and we can prevent the closure of our venue, everything above the amount we need will be donated to the Music Venue Trust GMV Crisis Fund to protect other venues just like ours, right across the country.
We ask project owners to honour their rewards wherever possible but please note that all pledges are donations and there is no guarantee that you will receive any rewards from the project owner. Please see our Terms of Use for more information regarding rewards for pledges.
