Aim
Our aim is to equip Derby Sea Cadets with the essential outdoor equipment they need to take part in safe, exciting and inclusive adventures.
Derby Sea Cadets has been giving young people aged 10-18 the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive through adventure for many years. As a volunteer-led charity, we're proud to provide a safe and supportive environment where cadets develop confidence, leadership, teamwork and practical life skills through activities on the water, camping, fieldcraft, first aid and community service.
Our dedicated team of volunteers gives their time to ensure every young person has the chance to take part, regardless of their background. We believe that no cadet should miss out on an opportunity because we don't have enough equipment to keep everyone safe and fully involved.
Our Vision
Our vision is simple: to make sure every Derby Sea Cadet has access to the equipment they need to experience the outdoors safely, confidently and without barriers. Whether it's learning to sail, taking part in a camping expedition or communicating during training exercises, the right equipment makes these experiences possible.
How Your Support Will Help
The money we raise will be used to purchase essential outdoor equipment, including:
- Buoyancy aids for water-based activities.
- Camping equipment for expeditions and overnight camps.
- Two-way radios to improve communication and safety during training and outdoor activities.
This equipment will benefit both our current cadets and future generations of young people who join Derby Sea Cadets. By supporting this project, you're investing in experiences that build resilience, friendships and skills that last a lifetime.
