Providing a warm space, hot drinks, snacks, a chat or a quiet place to relax for anyone who needs a bit of help during these winter months.
We are HUB@theskofe, a community centre providing a number of services including a subsidised food pantry, a clothes bank, a cafe and warm space. We are here to provide for the needs that arise in our local area, to provide a sense of community and friendship for those that need and create ways to help those struggling with financial pressures as well as reducing waste.

Our space is for everyone and anyone who needs it! We have been able to help reduce the growing costs of food and clothes for many families across Loughborough and Charnwood, for some families it has been the difference between eating or not. We have also seen friendships grow and people feel involved again in their local community, particularly those who have been affected by the isolation of the pandemic.
We are also sustained by the help of some amazing volunteers from the community who help to keep things running smoothly, many of them who have used the pantry and are keen to give back. We couldn't do it without them!

We want to get our cafe and warm space up and running which means providing warm drinks and food at low prices as well as heating and blankets to keep the space nice and comfortable. All of it costs money to get started - we will be doing our best to use surplus food from the Pantry so as not to produce more food waste but we will need stock to get things going.

The money will be spent on:
-heating and electricity
-blankets and cushions to keep the space warm and comfortable
-food and drink stock to get the cafe up and running
-some money will cover a meal for those that can't afford it
-a new fridge to hold stock used for making meals
