Aim
All 69 Councillors in Kirklees are up for election in 2026. Greens can have a big leap in our numbers with a properly funded campaign,
2026 is a big Election Year for the Green Party in Kirklees.
All 69 Councillors are up for election and we have 4 target wards where we hope to go from 4 Councillors to 12 Councillors in one election.
In Netherton and Newsome Ward Councillors Andrew Cooper, Sue Lee-Richards and Karen Allison are busy campaigning and taking up local issues,
In Crosland Moor Ward Councillors Alex Vickers and Imran Safdar and Abdul Jaba are out most days doing casework, delivering leaflets and talking to residents
In Greenhead Ward, Maryam Jawaid, who came so close to wining in 2024 is joined by Toby Cooper taking up local concerns and reporting everyday issues to Kirklees Council.
In Ashbrow Ward, Simon Duffy has been going door to door meeting residents and reporting casework to the Council.
We have a real opportunity of a breakthrough in 2026 but we will need funding for leaflets, posters and other election literature.
We have a target of £4000 for these elections. We're going to need that level of funding is we are going to make the breakthroughs we can clearly make.
