Kingston Hive is a community climate hub, run by volunteers and housed in a vacant space (currently the ground floor unit of the cycle hub by Kingston station).
We aim to give local residents the skills and support they need to:
- cut carbon emissions and energy costs
- reduce, reuse, repair and recycle
- eat a greener diet
- live a more local, sustainable lifestyle
- look after the natural environment
- come together as a resilient and compassionate community
We offer everything from upcycling workshops, eco-grief circles and inspiring film nights to food waste sessions and energy-saving advice. Just as importantly, the Hive is a space to meet others committed to sharing skills and finding ways to live more sustainably.
We have a powerful vision for making Kingston a true pioneer in a brighter, greener future.
And we need your help! Kingston Hive is run by volunteers. We pay a peppercorn rent for our current home and we've furnished the space with pre-loved goods. But we need funds to help us keep the space welcoming and cosy, and run the amazing projects we're planning. Your donations will help us cover lots of different things, including:
- teas, coffees and snacks for everyone who visits the Hive
- travel costs for some of our speakers and workshop facilitators
- our utility bills
- posters and flyers to publicise the Hive and campaigns
- other printed materials for education and awareness
- purchasing necessary equipment we can't find second-hand
- occasional hire of other venues, when needed
- internet access for our visitors and workshop facilitators
- film rights
We couldn't do this without you, our community, so THANK YOU.
And if you'd like to get involved as a volunteer and become part of the Hive, however much time you have to give, please contact us
