We aim to be able to continue our weekly delivery of basic food, hygiene and household products to those in crisis without interruption.
Kingsbridge Area Foodbank makes weekly deliveries to over 160 client units which equates to 400 adults and children. We have rapidly responded to COVID, adapting what we do and have become an essential frontline service working in partnership with external agencies to ensure the well-being of our community.
This independent charity operates entirely on volunteer effort. We manage the stock, prepare the food parcels, make weekly deliveries, collect supermarket donations, and collect and deliver prescriptions. We endeavour to maintain continuity between volunteers and clients to ensure their well-being and safeguarding, Concerns are reported and dealt with appropriately. Kingsbridge Area Foodbank has become an integral part of caring for the most vulnerable in our community.
95% of donations this year have gone directly into acquiring basic food, hygiene and household supplies to those in crisis. To continue this essential frontline service, we need to establish a sound financial base as well as a steady income.
