Our current water supply pipe is over 50 years old and requires urgent replacement due to frequent bursts.
We are a community rugby club based in Hopwood. We have over 250 active players from under 6 to adults both female and male. In addition we make our grounds available to others including local schools in south Birmingham, North Midlands ladies rugby, Hurling and Gaelic football clubs and UK Ultimate Frisbee.
Here is our President and Ladies captain Chloe with the cup won in their touch rugby league.

A reliable water supply is critical for any sport club. Our current water supply pipe is over 50 years old and requires urgent replacement due to frequent bursts. As the supply line to the club is over 100 metres and a connection to a new water main will be required this is an expensive outlay for the club at over £11000.
This project will replace the Rugby Clubs water supply line. There are 3 aspects to the work. Firstly creation of a connection and meter point which will be carried out by Severn Trent. Our main contractor will then create a connection between the water main and the clubhouse. This will involve digging a trench approx. 105 metres in length and putting in a new supply pipe bedded and coated in sand in order to minimise burst risks. Finally a plumber will connect the cold water supply in the club house.
We host the largest community bonfire and fireworks event in the area each November (attended by around 1500 children and adults). We make our facilities available to local schools in south Birmingham who have no playing fields of their own.
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
