The film is a ten-minute short film about Criss and Victor, two old drama school friends, competing for the same role in a play. But this rivalry takes a murderous turn when things don't go their way.

Now you know what we are trying to create, let me introduce you to our fabulous crew who will bring it to life. 🎬

Hi, I’m Mark-Antony and I’m the writer and director of ‘King’s Folly’. The idea originally came to me two years ago as a feature film but has since evolved into our graduation film. It’s very exciting to bring my love of theatre into my love of film, and I can’t wait to get on set with everyone and make some magic.

Hi, I’m Alex and I’m the director of photography for “King’s Folly”. I am very excited to use visuals to help create a tense and uneasy atmosphere for this story of twisted ambition. As the narrative largely takes place on stage, I am particularly interested in exploring how a theatre space will aid in the telling of this story, with regards to the architecture of the location itself and the potential of theatre lighting, with characters in front of blinding spotlights, or ominously lurking in shadow to the side of the stage.

Hello! I’m Kate a 2023 graduate of Napier and had a fab time producing my grad film Moth! And I am so pleased to be asked back to produce King’s Folly!

The film has a really exciting premise which tackles themes of jealousy, rivalry and inadequacy, set against the dramatic setting of Shakespearean theatre. All of which lends itself to tense and gripping drama and I am looking for to lending my experience to bring the film to life!

Hi, my name is Michael, and I am the sound designer for King's Folly. I am looking forward to crafting something really mysterious and gripping for this film.

As a thriller, King's Folly deserves a sound design that rocks your gosh-darn world. I'm willing to weaponize the abilities of Foley, atmosphere and the expert dialogue editor Yat-hin Lee to give you a cinematic experience you won't forget. Hell yeah, baby.

Hi, I’m Aisling, I’m in my 4th year of studying film at Edinburgh Napier University. Over the past few years, I have had an opportunity to work as a production designer for short films spanning various different genres. I’m really excited to work on this film and help bring the world of King’s Folly to life.

Hi, my name is Nikola and I am the costume designer for Kings Folly. I cannot wait to gather, design and create all the costumes that will be a part of this film, and I am even more excited for you to watch it. But now, let's talk a bit about the costumes. The costumes, especially later in the film, will be used to show the mental and physical states of the characters. I will pick each costume out to represent the character and their status in the story, using colour to represent this plus Victor and Criss's internal conflict with each other. Later, these elements will be amplified, especially in the scene where Chris snaps at Victor. Helping us with donations will help a lot with creating more intense and detailed costumes, which, in turn, will help amplify the aims of the costumes listed above. Thank you for all your support!

Some would say the most important member of the production. This film is only possible because of your generosity. Any donation no matter how big or small is greatly appreciated and every penny helps us reach our goal. We couldn't do this without you!
