Help us make Kill Me Now, a darkly funny Glasgow feature about a suicidal man who finds a reason to live over one wild night.
What is Kill Me Now?

Kill Me Now is a dark comedy set over one long, chaotic night in Glasgow.
Sonny is a compulsive liar who has reached a point where he no longer wants to be alive. Then he meets Lola, another compulsive liar with problems of her own.
After Sonny convinces her that he only has 24 hours left to live, the two of them head into the city. She has a list of things to do before she dies, he has a list of things to do in order to die. What could go wrong?.
What follows is funny, messy, romantic and occasionally ridiculous. But underneath all of that is a simple idea: a man who wants to die slowly finds a reason to live.
Tonally, I see it somewhere between Silver Linings Playbook and Before Sunrise, with the darker comic edge of In Bruges. It is a character-driven film about two damaged people connecting at exactly the wrong, or possibly right, time.
Why I want to make it
I’m Sean Wilkie, a Scottish writer and director, and I’ve been making independent films for years.
What interests me most as a filmmaker is character. Funny people. Flawed people. People who say the wrong thing, make terrible decisions and somehow remain worth rooting for.
That is what Kill Me Now is built around.
I don’t want to make a grim film about suicide or mental health. I want to make something alive. Funny. Romantic. Awkward. A film that can go somewhere dark and still find humour there without treating the subject lightly.
Glasgow is a huge part of that.
The city isn’t just a backdrop. Sonny and Lola move through bars, streets, cafés, hospitals and strange little corners of Glasgow over the course of the night. I want the film to feel recognisably Scottish while still having the energy and scale of the independent films I grew up loving.

Mike Webster (Producer / Director of Photography) — Mike Webster is a Scottish filmmaker, director, and cinematographer with nearly two decades of experience in both documentary and scripted production. As founder of Spiral Out Pictures, he has delivered films for BBC, Discovery, and international broadcasters, filming in locations as diverse as South America, East Africa, the Galápagos, Mongolia, and Antarctica. His documentary credits include Eastbound: Jenny Graham’s Round the World Adventure and Chacra. In narrative work, he served as Director of Photography on the indie horror feature The Bench. His films have screened on television, at festivals, and on Amazon Prime.

Sherrill Mason | Producer
Based in the Scottish Highlands, Sherrill Mason is an independent film producer with a hands-on background spanning feature films, documentaries, and high-energy television productions. Her experience ranges from organizing complex international expedition shoots in Kenya and the Galapagos to managing fast-paced set operations across Scotland.

On Kill Me Now, she works in close partnership with director Sean Wilkie and DP/co-producer Mike Webster. Sherrill brings the essential production oversight, resource management, and location expertise to ensure the project moves seamlessly from development to release while maintaining high production value at every step.

The Cast

KEVIN WALLS - SONNY
Kevin is an actor and multi-skilled filmmaker from Glasgow, Scotland. He completed his BA in Acting, with distinction, at New College Lanarkshire/Queen Margaret University in 2024 and has appeared on-screen in commercials, short films, and feature films, including Sophie Fillières’ final feature, ‘This Life of Mine’, which opened the Directors’ Fortnight at Cannes in 2024.
He previously studied MDes Sound for the Moving Image at the Glasgow School of Art, and his graduation film ‘Identical’ won the BAFTA Scotland New Talent Award for Sound in 2015.
As a filmmaker, his short film ‘When Abbie Met Emmy’ premiered at BFI Flare in 2019 and ‘Double Word Score’, directed by Keith Allott, was selected as part of the DepicT! 2020 programme at the Encounters Film Festival. ‘Lifelike’, also directed by Keith Allott, premiered at The Shortest Nights film festival in 2021.
In 2017, he received a scholarship from Warner Bros. Creative Talent to study on the MA TV Fiction Writing programme at Glasgow Caledonian University. Soon after graduating he signed with his literary agent and began working as a professional screenwriter. He wrote several episodes of BBC Scotland’s continuing drama ‘River City’.
His debut feature as a writer and director, Premature, was release in UK and Irish cinemas in September 2026.
As Sonny, Kevin has to balance deadpan comedy with a character carrying a huge amount of hurt underneath the surface. His performance sits at the heart of the film, as Sonny’s increasingly chaotic night with Lola gradually forces him to confront whether he really wants his life to end — or whether he simply wants it to change.

JASMINE MAIN – LOLA
Glasgow-based actor Jasmine Main has worked across film, television and theatre, beginning her career on stage before making her screen debut in the short film Bear With Me. Her performance as Angel earned her a BAFTA Scotland New Talent Award nomination for Acting in 2014.
Her television credits include BBC dramas The Nest, Clique and comedy series Scot Squad. More recently, Jasmine joined the cast of BBC Scotland’s River City as Alice Linder, appearing across the show’s final series.
Jasmine also has extensive theatre experience. She played Lizzie in the stage adaptation of Irvine Welsh’s PORNO, the sequel to Trainspotting, as part of its UK tour following the production’s sold-out Edinburgh Fringe run.
In KILL ME NOW, Jasmine plays Lola — funny, impulsive, brutally honest and carrying considerably more beneath the surface than she lets anyone see. The role demands someone who can move between comedy, chaos and vulnerability without losing the character’s edge, and we’re incredibly excited to have Jasmine taking it on.
The Timeline
Backers will receive regular updates at each stage so you can follow the journey from page to screen.
Our Plea
We love this story. We believe in it. And we want to share it with audiences worldwide. But we can’t do it alone. By supporting Kill Me Now, you’re not just helping fund a feature film, you’re helping and supporting the growth of Scottish independent film.
Every pound helps. Every share of this campaign helps. And every backer becomes part of the story.
The Challenges
Independent filmmaking is never without hurdles. Budgets are tight, schedules are tough, and unexpected setbacks can happen. But this isn’t our first film, and we’ve built a track record of delivering projects, even when resources are limited.
Our biggest challenge will be keeping costs low while still paying cast and crew fairly. Crowdfunding helps us bridge that gap. With your support, we can overcome those challenges and bring this rom-com with a twist to life.
