We're fighting 4 the Kids of Kabwe, to raise international awareness, fight for accountability & call for urgent action to protect the kids.
Kabwe, Zambia is often described as the most polluted town on Earth.
For decades, a lead mine dominated the town. When it closed in 1994, it left behind 6.5 million tonnes of toxic waste - poisoning the land, water, and air.
Today, the legacy of that pollution lives on in Kabwe’s children.
More than 100,000 women and children are believed to be affected by lead poisoning.
A generation at risk
Children in Kabwe are growing up surrounded by toxic dust that blows through their homes, contaminates their water, and settles on the food they eat.
