Aim

Support The Museum of Carpet through the coronavirus crisis.

The Museum is a centre of heritage, art and industry inspired by Kidderminster's carpet industry.  We use our collection and facilities to improve people's lives.

The Museum is currently closed to help the fight against the coronavirus.

We are an independent museum, with no regular local or central government funding.  All our events, workshops, exhibitions, group and school visits are cancelled causing massive loss of income, but we still have fixed costs and bills to pay. Even when we can reopen it will take time to rebuild our programmes. As a small charity this poses an unprecedented threat to our existence.

The Museum of Carpet is the only museum in the UK dedicated to carpets and carpet manufacture, and the only museum and gallery space in Kidderminster.  Through a series of displays, interactives and working demonstrations the Museum keeps alive the heritage of carpet making.  We keep safe a stunning collection of carpet designs and working machinery.  We deliver a vibrant programme of exhibitions, educational visits and workshops.  We provide a modern, welcoming meeting space for the community.

Please help us to stay open.

If you cannot afford a pledge, you can still help by sharing this page, telling your friends, or making a promise to visit us when the pandemic is over.

Stay safe, and thank you.

From the team at the Museum of Carpet.

We ask project owners to honour their rewards wherever possible but please note that all pledges are donations and there is no guarantee that you will receive any rewards from the project owner. Please see Crowdfunder's Terms of Use for more information regarding rewards for pledges.
