Aim

Please support my strategy of cultivating a unique network of ex Kibbutz Volunteers, valuable friends to Israel, from all over the world.

AN APPEAL FOR SUPPORT FOR

THE KIBBUTZ VOLUNTEER CLUB (GLOBAL NETWORK)

Approximately 400,000 individuals around the world have once been a Volunteer on Kibbutz in Israel. Most are not Jewish or had any idealogical reason to be in Israel, except, maybe, for the ideals of Kibbutz Life.

These ex-volunteers consistently express how their Kibbutz experience remains as one of, if not their most, treasured memory in their life.  Irrespective of where in the world these people now reside, and despite the rising trend of anti-Israel opinion around them, they generally remain affectionate, compassionate supporters of Israel, even years or decades later.

A group and page called ‘Kibbutz Volunteer Club’. has been created on Facebook.  It is a channel that has clearly been needed, making it possible for such individuals to express their positive feelings towards the country. Please visit the group and page, as well as the website www.kibbutzvolunteerclub.com to see the remarkable positivity expressed by a quickly growing membership of kibbutz volunteers from all over the globe.

In contrast to the seemingly constant negative opinions and news towards Israel these days, the enthusiasm from the majority of those that have joined the Facebook Group is truly like a breath of fresh air. Clearly, those who have experienced Israel on the ground, have a more valid understanding and greater insight to the complexities that exist in Israel.

Their testimonies and experience has obvious tangible value to any organisation or individual involved in working for the interests of Israels’ global public image. It is essential the relationships between such individuals and Israel is preserved and cultivated.

This Video shows comments received from members of the KVC Facebook Group.

THE OBJECTIVE

I seek support for a dual mission.  First, as part of the general effort to capitalise on these friendships and to ensure such friends do not feel undervalued, various Kibbutz Volunteer Reunions and Events will be organised, taking place in Israel and throughout the World.  Occasions, such as the 70th anniversary in 2018, are ideal opportunities to shine a light on these (often non Jewish, non political) fans of Israel. Particularly as these Volunteers have played a significant part in the modern history of the state. These events will also be a source of a positive story that can offer valuable PR for Israel.

I also have plans to re-energise the current Kibbutz Volunteer Programme, to make it as relevant for these current times, to a level closer to how it had been.  What a missed opportunity it would be if, in another few decades, Israel had not created another generation of friends throughout the world, like it currently has.

Longer term, I hope I can obtain more official recognition from Israeli institutions, towards this unique global community of Kibbutz Volunteers. I believe the advantages of the Volunteer Programme warrants greater attention at a government level.

ABOUT ME - DANNY ROLNICK - FOUNDER

Aged 51, my wife and I have a 9 years old daughter and we live in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire.  I have dual British / Israeli nationality, and I once lived in Israel, mostly on Kibbutz. I also served three years in the IDF.

I am an Event Producer for private and corporate events and also a professional DJ.

Increasingly, over the past four years, as a response to the disproportionate singling out of Israel and an increased level of Anti-semitism, I have spent many hours engaging with others, challenging many misconceptions.  However, I have been determined to do more.

The concept of the Kibbutz Volunteer Club is part of a specific strategy, intended to compliment the activities of others, who also work to defend Israel against the current information war.

CURRENT STATUS

The Kibbutz Volunteer Club is up and running. Following initial groundwork, including a trip to Israel in December, I have attracted strong support from the Kibbutz Programme Centre in Israel and the Zionist Federation in the UK.  Presently, I am working on a Volunteer Reunion Event, to take place in London, coinciding with Yom Haatzmaut. Tickets are on sale now and a few have already been sold.  This is the video invite;

URGENCY

The UK based Reunion Event is currently being funded by ticket sales. However, if a minimum number of tickets are not sold, the event would need to be cancelled. Obviously it would be preferable if financial support was obtained, so that it can be assured that the Event will be going ahead. On such a basis, I could then proceed to arrange similar events in other countries.

I believe this is clearly an important worthy cause, that warrants investment and support. The general strategy fits neatly in sync with activities of others, resulting in generating positive stories related to Israel.

Please feel free to contact me directly to discuss plans and options in further details.  Thank you
