We're crowdfunding to open the centre extra hours during the Winter energy crisis as a welcoming space for local people to keep warm.

Who are we?

KFCA is a resident-led charity operating from a community centre on the edge of Liverpool City Centre. We have a weekly food pantry, run an older persons lunch club with social activities, a community allotment, and deliver various wellbeing projects and popular after-school / holiday play & food schemes for children and young people and their families.

Community impact

We are at the heart of the Kenny Fields neighbourhood, providing an easily accessible place to access advice & support, join in with free activities which improve health & wellbeing, as well as a hub for celebrating all of life's milestones and just have fun & meeting other people.

We are led by people from the local community and also have a strong & passionate group of volunteers that support our work.

The link below to our recent film also illustrates the work we do, and explains the challenges we are facing as an organisation and a community.

Why are we crowdfunding?

In common with thousands of people across the country, local people in our neighbourhood, and wider North Liverpool, are feeling hard-hit by ever increasing energy bills and food prices.

We want to help alleviate worries about the rising cost of living by giving people a warm & welcoming space to drop into, taking the pressure off having to choose whether to put the heat on or make a hot meals for themselves.

A recent example of how we have helped people with the cost of living crisis is our slow cooker project where over 45 households have received a free slow cooker and ingredients for nourishing and easy to make meals.

How we’ll spend the money raised

The money raised from this crowdfunder will enable us to open the centre extra hours between January and April 2023 and provide free tea & coffee, and light meals like soup & a roll, toasties and Scouse.

As an organisation we are also impacted by increased energy costs and some of the funds raised through this campaign will go toward the cost of our organisations heating & lighting bills on the days when we put the 'warm welcome' sessions on and as well as towards the cost of refreshments and food.
