Since 2022, Kerrera has been a cornerstone of the Guildford scene and a focal point for craft beer in Surrey. Now, we’re bringing that same passion to Henley-on-Thames. Opening this summer, Kerrera will now be setting up a second site  Henley will be a curated showcase of the very best in craft beer, local gins and English Sparkling wines, from the beers of Siren Craft Brew, Bearwood and Two Flints to award-winning English Sparkling Wines and local gins.

We have been presented with the opportunity to take over the former 'Echoes' bar at 6 Gardiner Place, previously run by Phantom Brewing. It's the perfect location, just off Market Place, and right next to Waitrose and Kings Road car park.

What to expect?

• 10 craft beer taps, on rotation, featuring a top mix of local and international brewers
• A curated gin list from nearby distillers and the Scottish Highlands
• English sparkling wines, low intervention and natural wines, orange wine and more
• Cocktails and summer spritz
• The best non alcoholic section a bar can have
• Gluten-free beers
• Top tier snacks and street food pop-ups
• A completely revamped interior and a new feel
• A new space and new events, with community at the focus

The Goal

We are raising an initial £30,000 to ensure our doors are open in time for the World Cup and the Henley Royal Regatta this summer. Your help will enable us to complete a state of the art fit out in record time. The funds will also be used for the rent deposit and legal fees, all which add up. There's also SDLT (Commercial Stamp Duty), business rates, insurance, services charges and more. Opening a business in 2026 isn't either easy or cheap!

Some of the funds will also be used to refurbish the bathrooms, and freshen the place up ahead of opening. 

This is your chance to join our Founder's club, which for a minimum of £100 will get a package including your donation back in bar credit and 10% discount for life in all current and future venues. Pledge more to receive extra credit, merch and additional rewards.

Expect to see tasting events, meet the brewers, tap takeovers as well as our social running club and a space to host meet-ups, networking and book clubs. It will become a unique space to host private gatherings, birthday parties and sports club.

Why Support Us?

• Help us create local jobs, we expect to employ around 10-12 people directly.
• Support many more jobs within the wider community, all our suppliers, delivery drivers, brewers, distillers, as well through design, fit out and marketing.
• Shop local and keep the high street alive. Another empty unit filled and bringing people in to Henley.
• Create community. With events like run club, book clubs, comedy nights and live music it's more than just a place to grab a drink. Your new local and social hub for a night out in Henley.
• More choice - nearly all wet-led (drinks first) bars in the area are tied in with big brewers. Not us. You'll be able to get a wide range of rotating craft beers, wines and gins. No products are locked in or off limits. 

Why Crowdfunding?

This will just be part of the money raised for the Henley site, but it allows us to combine with more traditional methods. Bank loans have very high interest due to the current volatility of the high street and in general with hospitality venues.

We successfully ran a crowdfunder for Guildford in 2022 and some of the Founder's have become regulars and best friends, as well as providing some of the first customers. They have enjoyed being able to host their friends and family at their new favourite bar. We look forward to welcoming a new group to both Henley and Guildford bars. We hope to run concurrent events across both bars and grow the Kerrera community.

This enables us to get some much needed funding in advance of opening, and then 'pay back' our Founder's through bar credit across both venues.

FAQs

When will I receive my pledge? 

All pledges will be released shortly after Henley site opens. We're hoping around the 6th July but we will keep everyone posted. We expect merch and beer packs to be able to picked up around the same time.

Where can I use my tab and what for? 

You will be able to user your tab at both Henley and Guildford bars. The tab can be used to pay for anything in the bar - great beers, wines, ciders and more! Once the tab is finished you will get 10% discount for life in both bars - and any further Kerrera openings!

Why is it asking me to leave a tip? 

Please select 'Other' and then enter '0'. This is a little annoying as we already pay fees to crowdfunder, but there is no way to switch this off.

I'm a customer in Guildford, what's in it for me?

This is the first time since we opened four years ago since we've allowed any new Founder's to join the club. This is your chance to get on board and get a 10% lifetime discount as well as other perks.

I was a Founder in 2022, what's in it for me?

As a thank you, any OG Founder's from 2022 will get an email with an invitation to the opening party and £50 credit on the new Henley bar. Any Founder's who decided to purchase in the 2026 round will have their discount boosted to 15% for a full year starting from the date of release, as well as any other perks and boosts.

Will I get an actual card?

Yes we will print some nice shiny new Founder's cards for anyone purchasing £100+ in this round.

Can I share my Founder's Card?

Yes and no. We ask you to be sensible. Generally one card will be enough for a couple or a +1, so you and your partner can use the card for yourselves and when buying drinks for others, but a single card cannot be 'passed around' a full group for example. Any cards being passed around will be checked on list of Founder's.

What if you expand in the future?

Any Founder's will get £50 credit on any new bar openings! A great excuse for a day out.

Why are you offering a bar tab and generous rewards?

By essentially 'borrowing' money from our Founder's up front, we are able to bypass costly bank loans. In return you get some tasty rewards and support local businesses and jobs. Whilst you are welcome of course to spend it all when we open, most customers will spend it over a number of visits which spreads out the cost.

This alternative method of raising capital allows us to also build a community as opposed to a faceless corporation which is built purely on profits and shareholders. We would rather give back to our customers than extra interest to the banks!

We know that our Founders and backers will be the focus of our community and share the future of craft beer in Henley and Guildford!

How long will my bar credit last for?

Credit will be valid for 2 years from date of activation! We would love you to use it up much sooner and can't wait for you to visit us. If you live a bit further away and have any issues spending the credit just message us and we will sort something out.
