We are raising money to help our most vulnerable clients top up their fuel payment metres.
Brief aims/overview of your organisation:
Calderdale SmartMove was established in 1998 and is a registered charity sourcing safe and secure accommodation for homeless or vulnerably housed people across the Calderdale Metropolitan Borough. Our aims are as follows:
Find safe and secure accommodation for homeless/vulnerably housed individuals and families. Provide one-to-one support for each new client for up to 12 months from their first contact Source and provide furniture such as beds/sofas/kitchen utensils/cooking equipment etc. to our clients. Provide a food starter pack to new clients and provide food parcels Provide basic hygiene goods such as soaps, toothpaste, cleaning materials, deodorants etc.Provide informal education such as healthy lifestyles, grow your own food, cooking on a budget, computer skills, job hunting skills and many more. Work with other agencies to help with issues such as mental health, learning disabilities, substance misuse, domestic abuse and alcohol misuse. Help clients with their physical and mental health through our fitness programmes Work with providers to ensure our clients receive health and dental care
In summary, we prevent homelessness, support a reduction in poverty and inequality and provide practical life skills training to improve clients' mental wellbeing.
To do this, we work in partnership with many community groups
Aviva Cost of Living Boost has provided £590 of match funding
Aviva Community Fund has provided £400 of match funding
