Leven Sports Hall is home to many activities for all ages. . We need to raise money so we can meet the increasing costs of running the Hall
The Sports Hall is home to many Leven Village activities and Sporting Activities We need to raise money so that we can meet the increasing cost of running of both the Sports Hall and Multi Games Area
We have recently received a forecast for future Heating and Lighting Cost which is far higher than current cost.
Leven Playing Field Association is a charity, run by volunteers that manage the Sports Hall and outdoor areas. The Sports Hall is the centre of our community use not only by Leven Village but surrounding rural villages. The meeting rooms and space we provide allows a wide range of clubs and societies for all ages during the day and evenings, such as Badminton Zumba Bowls Karate and everything in-between and hundreds of people are involved and benefit every month

Objectives and Activities are to:
• Encourage Team Sport to develop social skills to take into adulthood
• To Provide Amateur sports facilities Improve health and Well Being through providing Healthy Choices
• To promote and improve Mental Health by providing healthy choices
• Enable greater numbers to have access to Physical Activities by providing safer easier accessible access to those less able
Continue to regularly review access to all not just a few
Maintain Expand Green Space areas
The Sports Hall and Outdoor Sporting facilities provides both large and small heated and lighted open spaces that are, ideal for such as Badminton, karate, Bowls, Fitness Classes, Afternoon Teas Parties, Meetings and numerous other events. These clubs are able to use the indoor facilities throughout the year and helps keep the community fit and healthy
In addition to this, the Sports Hall provides a venue for birthday Parties Family Celebrations and Wakes.
All the above are dependent upon the Hall remaining open and being able to meet all operating and maintenance cost
Why are we crowdfunding?
Leven Playing Field Association does not receive any form of central or local government funding and we have to generate money required to run and maintain both inside and outside facilities. Increasing energy and other bills mean that we no longer cover all operating and maintenance cost from the hire income we receive and we are struggling.
Over past five years the Committee and Community have worked hard at raising funds for a number of improvements both in the Sports Hall and Outdoor Spaces.
Which have included refurbishment of changing rooms along with new kitchen plus decoration and much more
However its the general upkeep and maintenance that depends solely on community fundraising and hire revenue that we are struggling with.
Unfortunately like everyone else these charges have increased immensely over the past year. Despite increasing rental hire charges, we are struggling to meet our day to day running cost.
The indoor space is fantastic for holding children parties and Pantomimes along with annual Horticulture Show.
Adults benefit from such classes as Zumba, Bowls, Badminton, Sewing Group along with a number of other activities in the Sports Hall and meeting rooms
Co-op Warm Spaces
This project has been given a massive funding boost by Co-op Warm Spaces who will match fund an individual’s first donation of up to £250. That means your donation of £25 could be worth £50 and a donation of £100 could be worth £200 to your Sports Hall. So please give generously to keep your Sports Hall open for all to enjoyed by all.
We are currently struggling of finding ways of generating enough cash reserves that we know could be required at any time to fund emergency repairs. We have already received a forecast for future lighting and heating which shows cost substantially.
We want to raise £5000 through crowdfunding and other fundraiising events to fill the hole in our annual operating budget. We will continue to organise all other fundraising activities which we feel will allow us to build a cash reserve to meet what we know will be needed to meet the extra running cost.
Co-op Warm Spaces Funding Boost has provided £2,180 of match funding
This project successfully funded on 15th March 2023
