Support inclusive surf sessions so disabled and neurodiverse people can access the sea, build confidence and feel included.
Keep SurfABLE Scotland in the Water for 2026
Someone arrives at the edge of the sea unsure, maybe even scared, and a short time later, they’re smiling, laughing, and doing something they never thought possible.
That moment never fades.

SurfABLE is more than just surfing.
It’s about:
• Opening doors that once felt closed
• Growing confidence
• Shared laughter
• Feeling like you belong
We exist to create those moments.
And right now, we need your help to keep them happening.
Our Story
Since 2017, SurfABLE Scotland has been breaking down barriers to the sea.
Based in Lossiemouth, we support disabled and neurodiverse children, young people and adults to safely experience surfing, often for the very first time.
And once they’re in… they don’t want to get out.
For many families across NE Scotland and the Highlands, this simply doesn’t exist anywhere else.
A Story From Our Community
“Before SurfABLE, my child wouldn’t take part in any physical activity. Now they count down the days until the next session.”
What starts as “we’ll just give it a go” quickly becomes:
the highlight of the week a boost in confidence a sense of belonging
Why We Need Help Now
We’re heading into a new season, but funding is really tight while we actively seek funding grants.
Our core costs are around £2,500 per month (mainly, rent of building for our equipment, utilities and insurance) and without support:
• Sessions may be reduced
• Some participants could miss out
• Families may lose something they rely on
A Small Team with a Big Heart
One part-time instructor.
A team of dedicated SurfCREW volunteers.
Sessions are adapted so people can take part in the way that works for them, whether walking, wheeling, or being supported into the water.
Every pound goes directly into delivery.
Our Goal
We’re aiming to raise £15,000 to secure the 2026 season.
What Your Donation Does
It costs £50 to support one surfer for a session.
We reduce this to £20 so it stays accessible.
For businesses and organisations, we'd love to hear from you. Invitations are now officially live to Sponsor a SurfABLE Group. Suggested cost is £750 for the entire season (May - October). For more info - [email protected]
This includes:
• Naming/branding linked to a group session
• Public recognition across our channels
• Opportunity to visit a session
• End-of-season impact update
A limited number of groups are available
If this means something to you, please donate or share today.
Together, we can keep SurfABLE in the water.
