Keep our pool alive and thriving!

Aim

We are aiming to repair our swimming pool which is located on site to ensure it isn't forced to closed due to ongoing maintenance issues.

At Maynards Green Primary School, we understand and appreciate the importance of teaching children the life skills of swimming and water safety. We are fortunate to have our own covered heated swimming pool onsite and each year provide our pupils with regular lessons taught by highly qualified swimming teachers. These structured lessons provide the students with the essential knowledge of water safety, swimming techniques to enable them to enjoy themselves in the water as well as reaffirming overall water confidence. Our aim is to offer all children within the school the opportunity to use the swimming pool and that once the children reach year six, the majority of pupils will move up to secondary school with the ability to swim.

The operation and maintenance for running a swimming pool, as well as the unavoidable repairs which can occur are extremely costly therefore vital donations and ongoing fundraising is an integral part of the pools existence.

With the financial support of the Aviva Community we will be able to continue to successfully run this incredible facility for both the students of Maynards Green Primary School and also offer swimming facilities to our local community who can take advantage of after-school lessons and private hire.
